I have written about networking before and also linked to Keith Ferrazzi. In this two minute clip he explains how we can turn an initial contact into an ally. Very simple, but often overlooked.
In my work I often meet interesting people, but because I meet so many, I have a hard time keeping the correct name, face and conversation topic together. Maybe keeping a little note/sketch is a good idea.
Somehow I get the impression that by watching some of his YouTube clips I get his idea. What would be the use of actually reading the Never Eat Alone book?
You would be better off asking him that question. One way to remember contacts is to centralize all your contact info and accompany them with notes and a photo if you like.
