When I saw NPR is doing a series called “This I Believe, a public dialogue about belief” in which everyone can participate, I went over to their website. One of the entries is called “I’m not my body.” and part of Hindu philosophy is exactly that; we are not this body, but the consciousness that brings it to life. It turns out Lisa Sandin is a yoga and meditation teacher. Her message? We are much more than billboard pictures and the bodies they represent. You can listen to her essay or read it over here.
