After a hiatus of about a month, I got to pick up the pitchfork and turn some compost yesterday. Got a little sunburned in the process and some sore muscles too. Ian and I almost finished the job, but we will continues this afternoon. We ended yesterday with Gaura Arotik and reading from Bhagavad Gita about the material natures. Goodness, passion and ignorance and their effects.
Today Citta Hari and I will be cooking lunch. Prema Bhakti, with her husband and kids, is leaving us today after having cooked for the deities the past week. Tomorrow Vamsi will come. I will be doing some more compost turning and some website editing this afternoon.
Swami is gone till Wednesday. The atmosphere changes at the monastery, but nonetheless no one is bereft of service. It is good to see that the monastery is not coming to a halt. Only 9 more days here. It is odd.
