Days are passing by here quickly. There is never a dull moment. One of the monks left a few days ago for a short trip up north. He and another person are getting the windows for the new temple. It’s a 14 hour ride oneway. For the time being we have taken over some of his services. So I find myself doing cow dung cleanup and washing dishes more often. Every morning we clean up the cow dung and collect it all on the compost. After every meal dishes need to be washed because we do not use readymade food. Everything here is prepared by the monks themselves. (of course we don’t grind grains and sugars but buy those). Also, I clean the floors and kitchen itself naturally. After that I usually head over to the new temple building where a lot of construction is going on. Either staining brackets, putting in insulation, doing wiring or moving things around. And then of course there is the daily program too. 3 meals a day. 2 kirtans (singing) a day. etc.
The weather has been really good here, we hit 30 degree celcius a few times and mostly around 20 degree celcius. But I got to tell you that digging holes in the basking sun doesn’t feel like a beach. But who needs one when you got a good life here. I’ll try to post more pictures pretty soon. Of the nice scenery and the progress that has been made on the temple.
Btw. I’m eating more than Gurunistha. This surprised me. But the hard work really makes you eat a lot.
Below you can find another short movie on my trip to Vrindavana. Most of you know I went with a group. This following movie shows the tour guide, Swami BV Tripurari, speaking at different places.
