This is not a hotel. I didn’t come here for enjoyment. Many people wished me an enjoyable stay at Audarya and I accepted their wishes. Even though it is hard to explain that I didn’t come here for enjoyment. Generally we explore the world as enjoyers. Everything we do has to be enjoyable. If it is not, we just quit. And move on.
However, every progression involves some sacrifice or pain. Because if you don’t give, how can you live. We give to live. We give to our employer so he or she maintains us by giving us a salary. And then we give our money to a hotel, vacation, bar, or to electronics. Where we give our attention is where we go. This defines our identity. And with heartfelt giving there is always some pinch of pain, because you make a choice.
I’m giving 5 months of my life to this. Because I feel that I’m more than just an employee, human being, European or male. Just as a plant needs time to be cultivated, so does the human soul need time to be cultured.
Working on a temple building, staining a shed, filling up spots with insulation foam, and working in a garden may seem material to you. But in reality my practice is an attempt to do it spiritually. Our motivation determines the outcome, so as BR Sridhara Maharaj says:

“The sincere will have nothing about which to repent. He who is sincere to his own self will have such dictation as will help him to progress in his spiritual life. “
