After having been in the Netherlands for two days, I have continued my travels to the US. With relatively no problems, I made my way towards Warner’s house on Treasure Island, just right outside of San Francisco. Warner is a Dutch friend who lives here. I met him while studying at Northern Arizona University. I’ll try to post a picture of his view right outside his house pretty soon. Traveling to his house was interesting as well. I had to take bus 108, which is a holy number in Hinduism and when I entered his house I saw a big picture of Radha-Krishna. Yes, the signs are here, I’m on my way to the monastery up in Philo.
Customs was interesting too. The officer asked a few questions and I showed him the letter I got from the monastery. He kept saying how cool it was that I was taking time off from capitalism, economics etc. I was prepared for some heavy interrogation, but this was like a complete invitation, which was rather nice as unexpected.
Tomorrow I’ll go on a short visit to SF (Warner and I already went on a short stroll a few hours ago to get some food) to take care of some business, visiting the Apple store and the mighty Ross (if you’ve ever wondered where I got my Ralph Lauren polos and shirts, DKNY socks etc, then Ross is your answer, outlet of the outlets haha). I’ll have to call Audarya, the monastery, as well in order to find out how I get there on Wednesday.
On the flight here I was getting really excited about my trip to Audarya. It is just the insecurity about how the visit will be like, how my health will be, how hard waking up at 4.30 everyday will be, that makes me want to be more silent. But to be of the best help as possible shutting down is not helpful at all. People know I can speak out when confident. So the time spent at Audarya is to me of great importance in order to get more confident about my practice.
I apologize for not posting so much about my trip to Vrindavana, but I will try to make up for that another time. I realized I put the few photos I took in India on my laptop which is still in the Netherlands. So no photos from that trip for at least 5 months. When working correctly
Btw, I was once told that turbulence is felt mostly in the back of a plane. Well I had my share, I was sitting in the before last seat. Shaken not stirred they say, but I have had both, but still not to bad. It was interesting to see where it occurred. First, above England, secondly when entering Greenland and lastly above the mountains at the eastern border of California up to Idaho.
