As a Hindu you may think I don’t celebrate Christmas. But as a western born body there is no denying of the significance of the birth of Christ and the days called Christmas. Especially here in Europe it feels like the world stops around Christmas. You can turn on the television and find there is no regular programming. And there is no shop to browse through, just window shopping. Everybody is paying attention to what they are doing. At least before they start drinking and even though it is a feast of meat eaters.
Still I rejoice these days in reflection. A few years ago reading A Christmas Carol, or a little later seeing a tv show about a Catholic priest traveling the middle east and exposing some of his inner feelings. And that’s what I’m looking for these days amid the feasting, partying and forgetfulness.
So if your days are spent in reflection, I wish you a happy Christmas, otherwise have fun too.
“To me we’re all just killing time
Killing time
I can’t believe- There’s got to be-
Some way to break through
I think that I- Will have to try- Or I’ll lose my mind
We’re all killing time
Why?”
