it just dawned on me how much hardcore music is actually marching music. The power and masculinity of scrorching guitars march us towards the negativity we are trying to face or scream away. There are so many lyrics on positivity in the youthcrew scene, and many on negativity in the screamo scene (yes Paraksit ). They all say the same thing, hey we are a minority trying to live up to our ideals in a world that is incredibly hostile towards them. We are expressing our own individuality in a world trying to conform us.
So yes I do need marching music sometimes, but have to laugh at the idiocracy of my own emotions. I’m not rebelling against anyone but myself. To swim against strong currents is a mistake, because it shows our opposite attachment. I want to break through this black and white without denying any emotions.
