Where in this western world can we find a place that breathes silence? No interaction with my surroundings. Replace the outer dialog for an inner one. Escape from it all. Activated like a whirlwind with no options but to follow the wind. Remove the outer layer and lay bare what’s essential. Am I speaking in cliches? Or unanswered questions?
Else we’ll be stuck in uniformity, impressed upon us by the environment. by ads and tv commercials. painting an ideal external world. But I am determined to play the game like a habit and let my inner voice express itself like muzak?

I, too, would like to find a place that breathes silence. But is there silence in Gaudiya Vaishnavism? I get the impression that a devotee is supposed to chant or sing or read or talk about Krishna all the time, but is that not true?

James, let me get back to this in a future post. I feel there is some scope to explore this issue in more depth.
You’ll hear from me pretty soon.
